Green Venture uses a variety of natural cleaning products at the EcoHouse. We attempt to verify claims of "greening" when purchasing and also to support local or Canadian suppliers. Of course, the best method is to use good old fashioned baking soda and vinegar when cleaning (see HERE for more details), but if you insist on using a commecial product, we have used these types in the past:

Get Clean cleaning products are a brand of environmentally friendly products. Some of the Get Clean products include: dish wash automatic concentrate, organic super cleaning concentrate, soft fabric concentrate, germ off disinfecting wipes and many more. The products are made of biodegradable solutions that are safe for the environment. None of the Get Clean products contain chlorine bleach, phosphates, nitrates, or borates. Get Clean packaging, wipes, and dryer sheets are all made up of recycled materials. Get Clean is a brand from the Shaklee Corporation. Sea Blast is a natural all – purpose cleaner that contains no toxic chemicals. Sea Blast uses natural ingredients such as seaweed and baking soda. Sea Blast is not only safe for the environment but also healthy for humans. Sea Blast can be used on a number of different surfaces including fabric, jewellery, kitchen surfaces, floors and even fur. Bio-Vert is an environmentally friendly cleaning company in Quebec, Canada. Bio-Vert offers a number of cleaning supplies for laundry, dishwashers, and household cleaners. Bio-Vert product packaging is made from 25% post consumer recycled materials and all labels are made for 30% post consumer recycled materials. NatureClean manufactures biodegradable cleaning products that are non toxic and made from natural ingredients. The Nature Clean company follows US and European Union guidelines as to what ingredients are safe to put in cleaning products which will not be cancer causing.
