Education Programs

Green Venture offers sustainable living tours of EcoHouse year round.   During the school year, curriculum based tours are available for teachers who wish to take their students on a half-day environmentally focused field trip to Green Venture's one-of-a-kind EcoHouse headquarters.  A full day partnership tour with the Museum of Steam and Technology is also available.

EcoHouse storm-water management demonstration

EcoHouse is Southern Ontario's only retrofitted environmental demonstration home that offers a unique opportunity to educators to show their students how to live more sustainably.  Visitors will see many environmentally friendly technologies and behaviours while touring the 150-year-old historically designated home and 2-acre property.  Sustainable living practices such as natural gardening, composting and vermicomposting, rain water collection, energy conservation, waste reduction and wise water use will be explained and demonstrated to students to show how they too can make changes to live more sustainably.

Tours are available for:

  • school groups
  • home schoolers
  • Girl Guide and Boy Scouts
  • other youth groups
  • adult community organizations, groups, and clubs.
