Artist Statement
Nature is a giant canvas and inspires those that
see it. We are fortunate in this area to be blessed with such wonders
as the Bruce Trail and the RBG and much of my art has been inspired by
long walks through these magnificent areas. There is more than color
and shape to any botanical. There is an essence; a feeling that is
unique to every plant. My mission is to capture the spirituality,
beauty, and emotion of the flora we co-exist with. The power of plants
is highly underestimated whether it is for medicine or art; the two
being interchangeable. Medicine is said to be as much an art as a
science and I find inspiration in this philosophy. I am fortunate that
my two passions co-exist in such harmony.
